    Anstand ist eine Mischung aus ver­schie­de­nen Tugen­den und steht für die mora­li­sche Rein­heit. Im Grun­de kann ich die Ethik im zwi­schen­mensch­li­chen Bereich als Anstand betrach­ten. Wenn ich gegen die ethi­schen Prin­zi­pi­en ver­sto­ße, mag ich einen kurz­fri­sti­gen Erfolg haben, doch wer­de ich lang­fri­stig nicht glück­lich sein. Anstän­di­ge Men­schen setz­ten Wer­te, Tugen­den und Hal­tun­gen in die Tat um. [1]

    Demut

    Demut ver­langt, das wir hin­ab­zu­stei­gen in die Abgrün­de unse­rer See­le, in die Dun­kel­heit und in die Hilf­lo­sig­keit. Wenn wir ehr­lich zu uns sel­ber ste­hen, wer­den wir spü­ren, dass dies gewiss das Aller­schwie­rig­ste ist. Aber genau das meint das christ­li­che Wort von der Huma­li­tas, der Demut.

    Huma­li­tas kommt von Humus, Erde, Boden, Huma­li­tas meint, dass wir den Mut haben, unse­re eige­ne Erd­haf­tig­keit anzu­neh­men, den Mut, uns mit unse­rer Wahr­heit aus­zu­söh­nen, den Mut, hin­ab­zu­stei­gen in die Menschlichkeit.

    Demü­ti­ge Men­schen sind nicht Men­schen, die sich selbst klein machen, die sich vor allen Auf­ga­ben drücken, weil sie sich nichts zutrau­en. Es sind nicht buck­li­ge Men­schen, die in fal­scher Unter­wür­fig­keit sich selbst ent­wer­ten. Son­dern es sind Men­schen, die den Mut zu ihrer eige­nen Wahr­heit haben und daher beschei­den auf­tre­ten.[1]

    Zurückhaltung

    Zurück­hal­tung bedeu­tet abwar­ten zu kön­nen, nicht auf­dring­lich zu sein und ein Fein­ge­fühl zu haben. Die Zurück­hal­tung ist zugleich eine Hal­tung des Respekts gegen­über ande­ren. Das beinhal­tet zunächst die Mei­nung des ande­ren zu hören und wert­zu­schät­zen. Quel­le der Zurück­hal­tung kann sein, ande­ren gut und ange­mes­sen zu begeg­nen, aber auch die Angst oder die Schüch­tern­heit. Bei die­sen Quel­len der Zurück­hal­tung kön­nen wir ler­nen sie zu über­win­den. Hier­zu bedarf es der Zivil­cou­ra­ge und sicher­lich dem Mut, der Antriebs­fe­der aller Tugen­den. [1]

    Heiterkeit

    Hei­ter­keit ist nicht ein­fach nur eine Cha­rak­ter­ei­gen­schaft, mit der man gebo­ren wird. Sie ent­steht durch ein gro­ßes Ver­trau­en, dass man so, wie man ist, bedin­gungs­los ange­nom­men ist, dass letzt­lich alles gut ist. Und sie ent­steht durch den Mut die eige­ne Wahr­heit anzu­schau­en. (…) Hei­ter­keit ist kein nai­ver Opti­mis­mus, son­dern eine Hal­tung, die aus der Begeg­nung mit der Wahr­heit kommt. Weil er sei­ner eige­nen Wahr­heit ist Auge geschaut hat, braucht er sich nicht mehr den Kopf über evtl. Pro­ble­me und Gefah­ren zu zer­grü­beln. Er ist nicht fixiert auf das Dunk­le die­ser Welt, son­dern sieht alles ins gött­li­che Licht getaucht. Er ver­traut, dass die­ses Licht, das in sei­nem Herz gesiegt hat, sich auch in die­ser Welt durch­set­zen wird. [1]

    Höflichkeit

    Höf­lich­keit ist ein Ver­hal­ten, geprägt von Rück­sicht­nah­me gegen­über ande­ren. Sie ist ein Aus­druck von Respekt und Mit­ge­fühl. Mit der Höf­lich­keit ver­bun­den ist die Herz­lich­keit. Manch­mal jedoch kann auch eine rein for­mel­le Höf­lich­keit ange­mes­sen sein. [1] Lei­der hat die Tugend der Höf­lich­keit heu­te kaum noch einen Stel­len­wert und wird nicht sel­ten zur Errei­chung eige­ner Zie­le vor­an gescho­ben. In der­ar­ti­gen Fäl­len ist Vor­sicht gebo­ten, da sich hin­ter der Höf­lich­keit nicht sel­ten eine Schein­hei­lig­keit verbirgt.

    Die Weis­heit beruht auf tie­fer Lebens­er­fah­rung sowie Erkennt­nis, Ver­ständ­nis und Ein­füh­lungs­ver­mö­gen. Sie ist ver­bun­den mit Warm­her­zig­keit sowie Wohl­wol­len und führt zu Gelas­sen­heit und Geschick im Han­deln. Weis­heit bedeu­tet die Fähig­keit, das All­täg­li­che vom Stand­punkt einer höhe­ren Wirk­lich­keit zu betrach­ten, aus dem All­tag abstra­hie­ren zu kön­nen. [1] Weis­heit hat durch­aus etwas mit Wis­sen zu tun. Was ich weiß, dar­über kann ich ver­fü­gen. Das Wis­sen kann ich abru­fen, doch der wei­se Mensch glänzt nicht durch Viel­wis­sen, son­dern durch sein Gespür für das Eigent­li­che. Er blickt durch und er weiß um die tie­fe­ren Zusam­men­hän­ge allen Seins. [2]

    Klug­heit ist vor­wärts­ge­rich­tet und sie schaut vor­aus. Das latei­ni­sche Wort für die Klug­heit, pru­den­tia, ist die Kurz­form von pro­vi­den­tia, der Vor­aus-Schau. Die Klug­heit hat einen wei­ten Blick. Sie ist die Fähig­keit, in Gedan­ken die Zukunft vor­weg­zu­neh­men. Sie sieht im Geist, wel­che Hand­lun­gen zu wel­chem Ergeb­nis füh­ren wer­den und wählt die Hand­lung aus, die zum gewünsch­ten Ziel führt. „Kon­se­quenz­ana­ly­se“ Wer die Kon­se­quen­zen durch­denkt, wer vor­aus­schaut, der kann klug han­deln. Klug­heit ist eine prak­ti­sche Tugend. Es geht bei der Klug­heit nie nur um Theo­rie, son­dern um klu­ges Han­deln. Nur wer klug han­delt, ist ein klu­ger Mensch.     Es ist gut zu wis­sen, dass es beim Scrabblen für die Cou­ra­ge 24 Punk­te gibt. ? Im wah­ren Leben zahlt sie sich die Cou­ra­ge zwar häu­fig aus, doch will wohl über­legt sein, cou­ra­giert zu han­deln. Es zeugt von Cou­ra­ge, sich gegen die Mehr­heits­mei­nung zu stel­len und bei sei­nen eige­nen Ansich­ten zu blei­ben. Doch nicht sel­ten bedeu­tet ein cou­ra­gier­tes Han­deln sich auf­zu­rei­ben und Nach­tei­le in Kauf zu neh­men. Daher braucht es zur Cou­ra­ge einer erheb­li­chen Por­ti­on an Mut und Tap­fer­keit, die zu den Kar­di­nals­tu­gen­den zäh­len. [1]
